English Ministry
One of the most powerful statements of our Church is in our name – Silicon Valley World Mission Baptist Church. Our desire for the second generation is that they make a global impact for Jesus by releasing the Gospel right here in the Silicon Valley!
Our English Ministry at World Mission is comprised of youth, college, young adult and married couples. We have several convictions that form the vision of the English Ministries at WMBC.
1. Ministry is Family.
Ministry as family focuses on relationships and community, not just in our physical families but in our spiritual family, the church. Family identity is the strongest influence in forming personal identity. Rather than train up individuals to be strong in the Lord, our heart is to raise up a strong family in the Lord that will reach the Lost for Jesus.
Families are made up of multiple generations. We place a strong value in older men and women raising up the younger generations. Our new college ministry will provide mentoring and leadership for the youth group. Young adults mentor college-aged students and married couples will set examples of leadership to the young adults.
2. It’s all about God’s Love.
Our desire is to focus on the Love of God, not so much on how much we love Him. As we grow in our understanding of how much God loves us, our goal is to show others what we are learning and experiencing. How will the world know God loves them? They will know by our response to their needs. The English Ministry will be a ministry that serves, prays, heals, touches, and cries with people who do not know Jesus.
3. Our church meets where life happens.
Our Sunday meetings and bible studies are key times for releasing encouragement and teaching but we are passionate about seeing our community groups releasing the Kingdom of God every day of the week. Some groups meet in coffeehouse, others in people’s homes. We believe that going out into the world is how people will meet Jesus whether in the workplace, in our neighborhoods, or in our schools.
4. Junior High
Our Jr. High Ministry exists to train, encourage and prepare 7th and 8th graders for a life of passionate love and service. We believe that the Love of God, through Jesus Christ, changes lives and compels us towards loving others. Jr. High students meet throughout the week in small groups, large groups and bible studies.
중등부는 7, 8학년 학생들을 주님의 사랑과 열정적인 헌신을 배울수 있도록 양육합니다. 예수님을 통해 보여주신 하나님의 사랑이 우리의 삶을 변화시키시고 서로 사랑하도록 이끄심을 믿습니다. 중등부 학생들은 매주 소그룹 및 예배, 성경 공부 모임을 통해 만납니다.
5. High School
Our Sr. High Ministry exists to disciple a generation towards understanding the Love of Christ. With a strong emphasis on the Gospel, students are trained and released to sharing “good news” to their schools and surrounding communities. We are passionate training students about the reality of the Kingdom of God, as well as releasing students to demonstrate “Kingdom” reality in a loving manner. Throughout the year high school students, alongside the Jr. High ministry, travel together locally as missionaries, praying for the sick, feeding the homeless, and giving comfort to those in need.
